About GINGKO

Hi, I’m Lynn - teacher by day, designer by night! As an educator teaching Mandarin Chinese to American children, I’m always looking for new ways to make learning Chinese relevant for my young students and their families. Living in the western world and investing in a minority language can feel isolating at times. My mission is to create everyday products that people can proudly wear and display in their daily lives, hopefully inspiring a sense of community and shared experience. Whether your connection to Chinese culture is inherited or acquired - we see you!

The name GINGKO is inspired by the bright yellow leaves of the ginkgo tree, a special symbol to me as it’s also the combination of my maiden and marriage name, "黄叶" or "yellow leaf." The two sections of a ginkgo leaf represent duality, where past meets present, and east meets west… to become YOU. Like the steadfast gingko, my wish is for us to gain strength from our roots and bring hope to new growth through self-expression of our unique cultural identities.
